This Jump Swing tune was made famous by Louis Jordan back in the late 40’s and was featured on the New York Voices “Sing! Sing! Sing! CD in 2001 (Concord Records). This chart is ideally suited for a small group, allowing a bit more independence and spontaneity, but will work with larger vocal jazz ensembles as well. The various female lead lines will probably work best as a solo voice, but can be broken up to feature multiple soloists. There is an open 12 bar blues section for scat or instrumental solos. This song is a good crowd-pleaser which works well as both an opener or closer.
