As recorded by New York Voices on their 1997 “New York Voices Sing the Songs of Paul Simon” CD, this is one of NYV’s most popular songs, which we continue to perform regularly. This arrangement grooves in 6/4, highlighting the rhythmic “two against three” dance. There is a tenor lead, plenty of ensemble work, and either a Piano or Guitar solo as well. The PDF download includes: SATB octavo, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums and optional Synth Strings. The Piano, Bass and Synth parts are fully notated. The Guitar and Drum parts are not fully notated, but well marked with a combination of notes, chord changes and rhythms. This is an exciting option for a more advanced vocal jazz ensemble.
