As recorded by New York Voices in 1991 (“A GRP Christmas – Vol. 2” – 1991), and re-recorded in 2013 (“Let It Snow” – 2013, Five Cent Records) – this is an old holiday favorite, which NYV has been performing for many years. The original SSATB version evolved over time, and now exists in both SSATB and SATB form. This chart sets a mellow mood, but builds to a dramatic climax toward the end, resolving again to a quite mood. The vocal parts include a mix of close voicings and independent lines. There are few nice short vocal solos, and plenty of space for instrumental solos.
