Happy 25th Anniversary to New York Voices!
From Paquito D’Rivera
Since the early days of my music career, I’ve always been a lover of classic cars and American vocal groups. So having the privilege of performing with the marvelous New York Voices, is like cruising down the Hudson river shore in a torch red 1957 Cadillac convertible.
Happy Anniversary and long life to “The Voices!”

So……no more football, so I had nothing to do…..so I went to see this vocal group, the voices from New York, something like that? 2 beautiful girls and 2 scruffy lookin’ guys ….pretty good. They don’t sound like a barbershop quartet, but I hear they are very popular in beauty salons …mostly in the Midwest ……and New Jersey. Go figure. So if they come to your town, maybe you can catch a set. What could it hurt?
MUCH LOVE AND ADMIRATION!

HAPPY 25Th NEW YORK VOICES:
I feel a certain kinship with the group because my wife, Gretchen, and I produced their first recording for GRP Records 25 years ago. At that time besides Darmon, Peter and Kim, the group consisted of Sarah Krieger and Caprice Fox. Lauren has been a terrific addition to the group and it’s been wonderful listening to how much they have matured musically over the years. They are at the top of their game. I look forward to the 50th Anniversary!!
Love and Kisses,
Michael Abene, Arranger
